Top Performer Report

Hamilton is an intriguing player, as he stands in at 6-foot-2, 190lbs, there is a lot of room for growth in the frame and on the field. Hamilton can get it done in the box, but he excels on the mound. Hamilton is a 7.54 runner and gets it up to 94.1 MPH exit velo. The legs power the uphill swing that creates a lot of line drives and hard hit flyballs. Hamilton is a secondary outfielder who takes decent routes to the ball and fields off his glove side foot. There is certainly more in the tank than the 81 MPH throw he posted in February, but one can only assume he was saving it for the mound. Hamilton gets on the mound with a sound delivery and good pace down the slope. He breaks his hands high and gotes right into scap load. The legs work as he can sink and ride down the mound with no instability. Hamilton finally gets the front foot down and uncorks a quick arm followed up by a great lead leg block that has a big hand repeatability. Hamilton runs the FB up to 83.4 MPH while sitting in the 82-83 MPH range. He mixes in a CB/CH combo with good command for the CH that averages 13.3" of horizontal run. Hamilton will continue to fill out his frame and gain more feel for the body. The arm speed is there, giving us a little indication that he could be a hard throwing starter in the future for the McDowell Trojans.
