November 2, 2022 Nathan Ocker Director of Eastern PA
Scouting Report
6/12/22
Physical: Frontline potential with strength/athleticism at 6-foot, 190lbs.
Pitching: RHP - Begins off the far left side of the rubber; simple delivery as the feet replace and get to balanced stack position Some drop and drive to it, but the delivery plays smoothly into the front side. Sat 87-90 mph at 2100-2200 rpms, peppering the zone, and added hard sweeping 70-73 mph CB across the plate. Good intent on 69-71 mph CH, created deception at 12 inches HM. Three quality pitches.
5/31/22
RHP/SS, (2023) Indiana Area, PA. 5-foot-10, 190-pound. On the mound, Sat with his fastball at 87-89 mph with a max of 90 mph; (Max spin 2240; Avg 2043). His 11/5 curveball (69-71) shows some sweeping action. (Max spin 2140; Avg 1961). He shows slight fading action on his changeup (77-78).
7/15/20
Physical: Solid and thickly built 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame with strength in the lower half. 7.12 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, crouched stance with a low center of gravity as the hands started with slight rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a lift and replace stride coupled in order to initiate a short, flat barrel path into the hitting zone with lift after contact. The hands were methodical early in the swing getting slotted and turned around on the back right hip creating plenty of barrel speed during batting practice, used the pull-side with regularity while contacting the ball at the front of the plate. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 90 mph during batting practice according to Trackman Baseball while generating a 23 mph peak hand speed per Blast Motion.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured active footwork fielding the baseball off of the left side of the body on the approach, low center of gravity but stands up after fielding on occasion losing momentum, solid pace from the left side of the infield, could range with short choppy movements to either side, quality feel for transfers as the arm worked across the diamond out of a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm circle. INF - 80 mph
Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step with a slow tempo in the delivery, medium leg lift at the top of the stack with direction towards the plate, landed tall at footstrike using most of his high ¾ arm-slot on the release. FB ranged from 79-82 mph with high spin (2353 RPM’s) and arm-side run mixing in a 65-66 mph CH out of the same window for deception.
