Unsigned Senior Spotlight

The Pennsylvania Unsigned Senior Showcase will take place on November 11 at the In The Net and B2B Baseball facilities in Palmyra, PA. This event will showcase some of the top uncommitted seniors from the state of Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Each day leading up to the event we will spotlight one or more of the prospects who will be in attendance.

Justin Beimel, RHP, St. Marys HS
Beimel is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect who throws a split finger fastball that sets him apart from other pitchers in this class. He is unique in that he uses his off speed pitches as his primary pitches and his 80mph fastball is then used in the same way others would normally use their changeup. Beimel knows how to get hitters out. He has excellent control, works down in the zone and to corners of the plate. He is capable and willing to throw any pitch in any count. While his velocity will not overpower anyone, his ability to pitch and get hitters out makes him an intriguing prospect.

Derek Brady, C, Strong Vincent HS
Brady is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound catcher who attends Northwest PA Collegiate Academy and plays baseball for Strong Vincent HS. Strong Vincent plays in a conference with perennial AAAA powers, McDowell and Cathedral Prep. In 2012, Brady was recognized as a 2nd Team All-Region performer at third base. Brady has shown consistent pop times of 2.00-2.05 and runs a 7.50 60-yard dash. He is an excellent student who carries a 4.23 GPA in a college preparatory curriculum. Brady plays travel baseball with the Lake Erie Pirates.
