Unsigned Senior Spotlight: SS Brandon Bergstrom

Brandon Bergstrom

Brandon Bergstrom is a 5-foot-11, 160-pound middle infielder from North Allegheny HS who showed very well at the recent PA Unsigned Senior Showcase. He displayed athletic actions, good range and a quick release on throws of 74mph across the diamond. Offensively, Bergstrom used a 77mph bat exit speed to consistently square the baseball. Bergstrom also showed the ability to use all fields and the potential to be a solid hitter at the next level.

Bergstrom had a solid year at shortstop for North Allegheny in 2012, coming on very strong towards the end of the season. That late season success may be a glimpse into the type of hitter Bergstrom will be in 2013.  Bergstrom hit .412 in section play during his junior season. Much of that number was a result of a .530 average with three doubles during the final two weeks
