Ohio Insider: 2018 Freshman Free Showcase - Sneak Peek

The Arms

Jack Ballas LHP / 1B / Strongsville, OH / 2021

Scouting Report: A long-limbed left-handed pitching prospect with room to add strength. Ballas works at a moderate tempo, delivery is smooth and repeatable. Uses a long arm action working through a ¾ slot. The fastball works downhill with late cutting action while sitting 75-78 mph. Best secondary offering was a 1/7 breaking ball, at 62-65 mph the pitch has swing and miss potential at the high school level. Also, showed a changeup that sat 63-64 mph with occasional cut. At 6’4” Ballas is a must follow through the spring/summer seasons.
