2019 Junior Future Games - Team Ohio 14U Recap

GAME 1 - Final Score: Alabama 6, Ohio 5

  • AJ Ewing showed smooth actions on both sides of the ball. The lefty swinger has an athletic stroke with a ton of feel for contact. Squared up the baseball frequently in game with easy gap pop to both sides of the field. As a defender he has feel for his feet with advanced ball skills. One of the top talents in the state.
  • There’s a lot to like with Toby Hueber. One of the more athletic guys on Team Ohio’s roster. Hueber is 6.8 runner, can pick it up the middle infield, a higher velocity guy on the mound, and has an advanced strength/bat speed combination at the plate that generates much more jump off the barrel than frame would suggest.
  • Ethan Sweat is a two-way prospect that will be attending Moeller. Physicality shows up on both sides of the ball. Took one of the louder BPs we saw at the workout and showed the ability to square up the baseball in game. Path is efficient, allowing him to use both sides of the field without sacrificing bat speed. On the bump he has some effort to the delivery but there’s no denying the arm strength. Ran the fastball up to 80 mph.
  • RHP John Simecek kept Team Alabama scoreless in 1 and â…“ innings of work, running his fastball up to 81 mph.

GAME 2 - Final Score: Ohio 11, Texas 9
