Max Hartman OF / 1B / Holy Trinity, AB / 2022Report: Hartman, a left-handed hitting 1B/OF from the Okotoks Dawgs, impressed during his rounds of BP. The swing was loose and whippy and there’s quick twitch in there from the 2022 grad. He displayed strength to his pull side and should only be able to improve on that as he fills into his 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. He will be a fun young prospect to follow throughout the week.

Luis Pimentel Guerrero OF / SS / Corpus Christi, ON / 2022Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Report: 2022 Pimentel-Guerrero, an outfielder for the Fieldhouse Pirates showed well during Scout Day at T12. He showcased arm strength andl athleticism when throwing from the outfield, he moves well and can cover ground. At the plate, his swing was loose from both sides, he’s collected and has the makings to hit for some pop with added strength and continued development. He will be an interesting watch this week in games as he faces some of the best arms in the country. 2022 you need to be on.

Emilien Pitre SS / Academie Baseball Canada, QC / 2020Report: Kentucky commit Emilien Pitre of ABC Academy put together a usual solid showing on Scout day. He ran a 6.68 60 yard dash to get things going, and translated his quickness and athleticism to the infield, where his hands work smooth, with clean transfers and accurate throws. The bat is short and quick at the plate, he works to both sides with a line-drive swing. All-around contributor type who gets the job done on both sides of the ball.

Owen Caissie OF / Notre Dame, ON / 2021Report: Caissie, a 2021 recent Michigan commit, really stood out on the day in all areas of the workout. Ran a personal best 6.49 and stood out among outfielders with his accuracy and carry on throws. Hit multiple home runs in his batting practice, one into the second-deck, and was barreling balls to his pull-side throughout both rounds. Athleticism was on full display today for Caissie. The 2021 commit is draft eligible as a 2020 next year and should have a strong following from the pro side.

Tyler Hinrikus 3B / SS / Resurrection Catholic, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
Report: The power from the right-side really stood out today for 2020 Ball State commit while the actions looked clean on the infield and moved well to both sides, profiling as a third baseman, also running a 6.76. Hinrikus was really turning on balls and getting the barrel out with juice and evident strength, even putting one into the 200 level. Was a good overall day for Hinrikus and will the power will have people paying attention the rest of the week.

Connor Caskenette C / 3B / Cowichan, BC / 2020Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
Report: Caskenette, a 2020 Bossier Parrish CC commit, was a standout among catchers. He moved well behind the dish with carry and life out the hand on his throws, culminating in pop times of 1.88-1.93. A strong frame at 6-feet, 195-pound, he showed some of that strength in his round of batting practice. He was hitting balls hard to all fields with feel for the barrel and different sound off the batt.

Anthony Gilbert
Report: The 2020 uncommitted Grad showed a little bit of everything on day 1 of Tournament 12. The 5-foot-11 165 pound infielder ran a 6.79 for his sixty then displayed good defensive skills with range and athletic actions. Gilbert showed good footwork that paired with his soft hands on the dirt. Was overall very smooth on the defensive side. During BP, Gilbert showcased a balanced, line drive, short swing to all fields. Hands stayed inside the baseball well and bat speed is present. Gilbert displayed some power to his pull side as well.

David Calabrese OF / St. Elizabeth CHS, ON / 2021Report: The uncommitted 2021 from the Ontario Blue Jays had his athleticism on display in all areas of his game today and ran the best sixty of the day at 6.43. Moved well in the outfield and stood out among his team. Has a quick, smooth stroke from the left-side and was barrelling balls all day. Present bat speed and has a feel for the barrel. Definite 2021 that should get plenty of looks from college recruiters.

Zach Laurie OF / RHP / Crestwood, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 2
Report: Laurie is a strong 2020 catcher standing at 6-feet, 195-pounds and committed to St. Johns. Showed some arm strength from behind the dish with online carry through the bag. Laurie is physical at the plate and was hitting balls hard to pull side with a good bat path, showing adjustments from Regina and the Canada Cup. Current strength and power offensive game and ran a 6.82, rest assure he’ll be ready to go when games open up.

Nick Gravel 2B / SS / Vauxhall Academy of Baseball, AB / 2020Report: Gravel, an infielder out of Nova Scotia had one of the more impressive showings on the dirt. A 7.19 runner, Gravel is one of the better infielders in the country, his actions are clean, he works through the ball with an impressive glove-to-hand transfer and some zip across the infield. There’s some bat speed at the plate, and with mechanical adjustments, he has some upside on that side of the ball. Exciting infielder to keep tabs on going forward.
