foot down on time

*Will Toffey – Vanderbilt University Infielder*

The phrase "foot down early" is an extremely common phrase and one that is being taught around the entire country. This is being preached at all levels, specifically the college level to give hitters a better opportunity to read the pitch.

However, if you are supposed to have your foot down early, then why are some of the best in the game not getting their foot down until they are ready to swing the bat?

Chris Burke breaks this down for us in this week's tip of the week with Prep Baseball Report.

In short, you are not supposed to get your foot down early, but rather get your foot down on time. If your foot was required to be down early, then why do some of the best hitters in the game use a leg kick?

Hitters like Will Toffey and several others know better than this. Check out this week's tip of the week and hear Chris break this myth done for you!

NOTE: This video will expire 7 days from post 11/14/2017. If you are viewing this Tip of the Week after its expiration, go to http://ecoach.coach/baseball/ for more information.
