Hitters who are able to identify their problem at the plate can climb out of a slump while others continue to struggle. However, several hitters end up with the wrong self-diagnosis.

In this week's tip of the week: Identify Your Problem, Chris Burke speaks to this very fact. A lot of hitters end up confusing rolling the ball over vs. chopping the baseball. These are two different issues with two different solutions.

Additionally, many hitters complain of hitting fly balls, when in reality, the problem may be getting too inside of the ball which in turn creates short flares to right field. No matter what you are doing wrong, you need to correctly identify the problem in order to correctly fix it.
