No. 1 Buford vs No. 7 Parkview (2.17.21)
Dylan Lesko, RHP/INF, Buford, 2022
Vanderbilt commit, No. 1 prospect in Georgia’s 2022 class. 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic, projectable frame, advanced stuff and feel on the mound, an elite prospect. Arm works quick and clean out of a ¾ slot, controlled actions throughout and then explodes through release. Dominant in his first start of the year, going 4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 9 K, 1 BB. Pounded the zone with his fastball, rarely had to go to his changeup or curveball. Fastball sat 95-96, touched 97 over the first three innings, mostly 93-94 in the fourth inning. Changeup, one of the best in the country, drops off the table, swing and miss pitch, has great feel for, 85-86. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth and bite, has really improved the pitch over the past year.
North Cobb vs Wheeler (2.15.21)
Harry Ford, C, North Cobb, 2021
Georgia Tech commit, ranked No. 2 in Georgia’s 2021 class. 5-foot-10, 200-pound right-handed hitting catcher, an elite catching prospect, advanced strength in lower half, athletically built, one of the top defenders in the catcher. Ford took batting practice prior to the game against Wheeler and showed off the developments he has made over the past year in his swing. He consistently sprayed line drives around the park and showed pull-side power. In-game he had two major league pop ups before the game was called due to rain. Ford has always been known as an elite defender, but he has turned his bat into a serious weapon, causing his draft stock to sky rocket.
