4/06/22

Lesko did not disappoint, dominating with electric stuff and advanced polish. He sat 94-97 with his fastball and mixed in his trademark changeup, a plus-plus offering that gave hitters fits. The Vanderbilt recruit has long been known for his fastball-changeup combo and the question was whether the curveball would progress. Well, even though he only threw three in the outing, it showed above average potential with high spin, sharpness and depth at 76. He struck out seven over four innings and allowed a run on a couple of hits.

3/04/22

Vanderbilt recruit. 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic, projectable build, the top rated high school arm in the 2022 class. Advanced stuff and command. Low effort, repeatable delivery. Facing a talented Jesuit (FL) team, went 4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 9 K, 3 BB, 1 HBP. Controlled the zone with fastball/changeup combo, sparingly used curveball, struggled with command of it. Fastball sat 93-95, touched 96, overpowering, pitches to both sides with. Changeup, swing and miss, can presently play at the next level, 79-83, deceptive with late action, falls off the table. Curveball, 11/5 shape, 73-74, average on this day.

8/19/21

Lesko has room to fill out his strong pitcher’s frame. He has a quick arm through a high-3/4 slot with the ball coming out easily. The fastball was 94-95 with late tailing action and some sink. His curveball had power and very good spin at 80-83, showing hard, sharp and late downer break with good bite. He also has very good feel for an 81-82 changeup that’s thrown with good arm speed and hard sink. Many that he threw were plus with the bottom dropping out. Lesko is athletic and has the ability to repeat his delivery, throwing strikes with all of his pitches.

3/20/21

Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder, an elite pitching prospect, the top ranked pitcher in the 2022 class. Continues to dominate competition. Started against Marist and went 5.0 IP, 10 K, 3 BB, 3 H, 1 ER. Allowed 2 of the 3 hits and the 1 earned run in the top of the first. Fastball sat 94-96 in the first inning, settled in at 92-95. Changeup, 85, a plus pitch that has typically been the go-to offspeed, was consistently missing low out of the zone with. Slider became the preferred offspeed, 77-80, 11/5 shape, sharp downer action, swing and miss pitch. Also helped himself out offensively with a three run home run into the wind over the left field fence.

2/17/21

Vanderbilt commit, No. 1 prospect in Georgia’s 2022 class. 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic, projectable frame, advanced stuff and feel on the mound, an elite prospect. Arm works quick and clean out of a ¾ slot, controlled actions throughout and then explodes through release. Dominant in his first start of the year, going 4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 9 K, 1 BB. Pounded the zone with his fastball, rarely had to go to his changeup or curveball. Fastball sat 95-96, touched 97 over the first three innings, mostly 93-94 in the fourth inning. Changeup, one of the best in the country, drops off the table, swing and miss pitch, has great feel for, 85-86. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth and bite, has really improved the pitch over the past year.

7/31/19

Is the rare combination of now stuff and projection at such a young age. Showing advanced feel for a change-up, even for a much older prospect. and future weapons in both his fastball and curveball. The word advanced can be dangled about this day and age, but the only prep to show these types of attributes at such a young age was one Dylan Bundy. Lesko is unafraid on the mound and has no problem establishing his fastball which he locates and hides well behind his technically sound front side and his on line stroke, especially for an arm that works so clean and easy.

3/02/19

Currently the No. 6 prospect in the 2022 Overall Rankings. Athletic, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, relatively easy delivery. He closed out Buford’s first game, sitting 89-90 with a strikeout in one inning. He has excellent feel for a changeup at 77-79 and flashed a sharp slider in the mid 70s. He was brought back for a more extended appearance in Buford’s second game and pitched more in the 86-88 range, but got touched up by the Providence hitters for four runs on five hits. He struck out five in 2.1 innings.
