Iowa Draft Preview

By Rob Allison and Nathan Rode

The 2015 Major League Draft takes place June 8-10. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.

Iowa had a strong draft class in 2014 with RHP Mitch Keller getting popped in the second round and RHP Keaton McKinney and SS Ryan Lillard showing upside as well. The 2015 class isn’t quite up to that standard, but a few players could turn into interesting prospects after three years of college baseball.

Top Prospects

1. Cole Baker, RHP, Dallas Center Grimes HS, IA
Baker is athletic and strong at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and should add strength as he physically matures.
