With the college season officially over, it means that recruiting for most college programs has shifted into second gear. Coaches travel the land high-and-low in their attempt to find future players to better their roster. As a player, this can be a nerve racking time. There is no need to panic, as coaches will be out to see you play. Control the controllable things and work on your game.
PBR Maryland will be doing features throughout the summer highlighting players that have the ability to play at the college level. Today we focus on Kieran Garner, a 2017 pitcher from Clarksville, MD.
Scouting Report
Has a projectable frame you can build upon at 6-foot-2 195-pounds. Throwing from a high ¾ arm slot, he sits at 86-88 mph topping out at 89 mph and has recently been reported up to 91mph. His fastball jumps at you with hard action and good command. He pitches with some rhythm and does show some effort in his throws. He pitches primarily from the stretch. An 11/5 breaking ball is sharp and he shows fastball arm speed throwing it 71-73 mph. He also shows command of his changeup with sink and fastball arm speed at 74-78 mph. A very intriguing power arm prospect in the 2017 class that is currently ranked fourth in the state.
