NC: Willow Springs Pushes No. 19 Garner

Garner hosted 1st year program, Willow Springs on Tuesday in Garner.  Pitching dominated the day as the Trojans used two arms to secure the 3-1 win.

Connor Chicoli worked 3 innings for Garner, leaving with a lead.  He struckout 5, giving up just 2 hits and 3 walks.  In the 4th, Henry Good took over, flooding the strike zone and attacking hitters, punching 4 without giving up a run.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd, Garner put two runners on with a walk and a double from Lane Herndon.  Henry Gardner grounded out to score Chicoli and tie the game.  A two out double from Landon Herndon plated his brother, giving the Trojans the lead.  After a walk Ivan Sierra plated T Stephens, running for Landon Herndon, with Garner’s 3rd win.

Willow Springs received quality efforts from their bullpen with Robert Kessler and Graham Moose working a combined 3 innings of shutout baseball.

Garner moved to 4-0, 1-0 in the Greater Neuse River Conference.  They will play Millbrook on Wednesday at Millbrook.  Willow Springs continues to look for their first program victory, dropping to 0-7, 0-1 in Conference. The Storm will be back on the field on Wednesday at Apex.
