The Prep Baseball Report Future Games have quickly become the premier scouting event of the summer for college coaches across the country. With each player being uncommitted, it creates a one-stop shop for coaches to evaluate future pieces of their recruiting classes. Hosted at Grand Park in Westfield, IN, just outside of Indianapolis, the Future Games allow prospects to perform on the biggest stage in front of the largest gathering of recruiters.
Last year’s event saw more than 340 players come through the Grand Park facility with action taking place over three days. At the time of writing this, more than 180 of those players had committed to Division I schools. Of those 180+ players, nearly half of them committed to Power Five conferences, and that number will likely continue to rise because of the large number of 2019s that were in attendance at last year’s event. This year’s event promises to be the best yet and with four new teams in the mix, expect even more schools to be in attendance.
In the coming days, On the Hunt will roll out five regionalized previews with some of the players/teams that are generating the most talk coming into the event. However, in this edition of On the Hunt, the 2016 event takes one last curtain call.

Halvorsen cemented himself as one of the top two-way talents in the 2018 class with his performance at the 2016 Future Games, and has continued to flourish ever since. He committed to Missouri not long after the event where he showed off a strong, quick arm that promised much more velocity to come. And it has started to come. Halvorsen recently sat 91-93 at the PBR Procase after a long summer of competition. While his arm puts him in talks with some of the elite prospects in the ‘18 class, his athleticism and right-handed bat give him a chance to be a difference maker at Missouri. Halvorsen runs his 60-yard dash between 6.8-6.9, and has an aggressive approach at the plate with a leg kick that adds to the power that his quick hands bring to the ball. The Future Games placed Halvorsen firmly in the talks of elite players in the nation.
