UPDATED 2019 OVERALL RANKINGS RELEASED
By Sean Duncan
Executive Director

Class of 2019 prospects are barely into their sophomore high school seasons, yet the majority of the top-ranked players have already already pledged their commitment to a college. Indeed, the commitment carousel continues to whirl at a seemingly breakneck pace for this richly talented crop of prospects.

In the updated and expanded Class of 2019 overall rankings, two-thirds of the Top 300 prospects are already verbally committed. Drilling down even further, 84 of the top 100 are off the board, and 45 of the top 50.

ON THE HUNT: SPRING 2019 NATIONAL RANKINGS EDITION
By Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

With the spring season in full swing all across the country, PBR rolled out the spring edition of the 2019 National Rankings. With the recruiting process starting earlier, there are about â…” of the top 300 that have, already (!), committed to colleges. However, there are still excellent players uncommitted on the list (and beyond it), and there were many revelations and growth seen throughout the winter months, and early in the spring. Each of those four players pitches with two of them also playing a position in hopes of being future two-way players. The other four are committed with recent updates. Represented are players from CO/FL/LA/MI/MN/NC/OH/WI.

RECRUITING ESSENTIALS: MAKE PHONE CALLS COUNT
By Brandon Hall
North Carolina Scouting Director

Phone calls can be tough. There is a skill to becoming good on the phone. Of course, some are better than others, as it is built into their personality, but very few people grow up dreaming of making cold calls for a living.

Personally, as a recruit and then as a coach, I had to work to become adequate on the phone. At the end of my first ever phone call as a high school recruit, my parents pulled me into the living room and very calmly suggested that I work on my phone call etiquette. Lucky for me, the coach on the other end called back and as I spoke with individual coaches more and more, I became a lot more comfortable on the phone. Flash forward five years, and now I am making the phone calls to recruits. For me, it was equally horrifying early on… What would we talk about? How would I get the information I wanted out of the recruit? How can I sell my school? Again, as I made more phone calls as a coach, it can become more enjoyable.
