The NCAA has come close to deregulating a lot of the recruiting rules and, in particular, the ones related to phone calls. This would be progress, I believe, because as it stands now coaches are having to fill out phone call logs (waste of time) and some colleges are paying thousands of dollars a year for phone call tracking technology (waste of money). In addition, each sport has different rules regarding phone calls – further complicating the issue.
