2021 New England State Games - Quick Hits

The Position Players

  • John Bureau, OF, East Lyme, 2023- A left-handed hitter, balanced in the box, super relaxed, works with ease through the zone, barrel has whip and life. Spraying line drives to both gaps. Average runner, throws a tick above, athletic with room for added weight gains.
  • Drew Colucci, INF, Trumbull,2024- A left-handed hitter, loose and relaxed, line drives, can handle the bat, collected multiple hits on the day, path is clean to the baseball.
  • Trey Begasse, INF, Canterbury, 2023- A right-handed hitter, wider set up, can really swing it, strong, middle to pull side, advanced approach. Defensively, feet and hands work, good flow, arm is above average.
  • Kevin Milewski, C/1B, Notre Dame, 2023- A monster right-handed hitter, power to all fields, multiple hits during game play. Defensively, soft hands, arm at 77 mph, life and carry to it.  Serious follow, chance to be a pro at some point.
  • Joseph Basso, C, Stonighton, 2023- A monster right-handed hitter, loose hands, pop to all fields, gets through the baseball. Exit Velocity of 97 mph, took a solid round of batting practice, hard contact in game play. Arm is quick and powerful behind the plate, clocked at 79 mph. Big follow for me.
  • Spencer Chard, INF, Canterbury School, 2023- A right-handed hitting infielder, wider setup, loose and relaxed hand set. Drove the baseball from gap to gap, 96 mph. Defensively, plenty of arm to stick on left-side, clocked at 83 mph. Look for him to make a huge jump this year.

The Arms

  • Tito Kiefer, LHP/RHP, Waterford, 2024- Worked from both sides, left-side fastball was clocked in the low 70’s, showing an above average changeup. • Garrick Godin, RHP, Mount Saint Charles Academy, 2023- A right-handed pitcher, strong durable frame. The arm is quick and clean, and the fastball was up to 81 mph, heavy arm side run. The breaking ball was clocked at 70-72 mpg, its late, with tight spin. Attacks, works quick, shows feel for pitching, competes.
  • Joel Hayner, RHP, Home Schooled, 2021- A right-handed pitcher, strong, fast arm, fastball up to 87 mph, hard biting slider at 76 mph. Big time sleeper, chance to be a guy out of the bullpen.
