2022 Scout Day: Bay Sox - Quick Hits
The Players
- Derek Gesmondi, 2024- A left-handed banger, having loft and lift to the swing, driving the baseball from gap to gap. The exit velocity at 85 mph, showed quick athletic legs down the line.
- Dean Gobeil, 2024- A left-handed hitter, quick hands at the plate, stays online, simple line drive approach, can handle the bat. A plus runner, ran a quick 4.13 down the line. Twitchy actions behind the plate, can go get it in OF as well. Big follow for me.
- Adam Gracie, 2024- A right-handed hitter, short, simple, repeatable swing. A line drive approach, very sound fundamentally. Soft glove, clean actions, projects more at second base.
- Manny Santos, 2023- A left-handed hitting catcher, line drive approach to all fields. Exit velocity of 86 mph, swing is short and compact. Threw it well from behind the plate, 71 mph arm strength with all throws on the bag.
- Mason Crain, 2026- A left-handed hitter, very good path to baseball. Plus pop for a 2026. Showed soft, clean hands, the arm is above average.
- Peter DelPozzo, 2023- A right-handed hitter, small kick, stays on the backside, short, quick smith, line drive to the middle of the field.
- Lucas Tanous, 2026- A right-handed hitter, simple approach, lower half under control. Teh swing path is level to up, shows a quick bat, and looks for him to hit at a high level.
The Arms
- Tyler Dicecco, 2025- A right-hander, longer clean, whippy arm action. Showing late life, fastball up to 79 mph. Breaking ball is thrown with good velocity at 69 mph. Look for him to throw with some velocity at some point.
- Austin Robinson, 2026- A right-handed pitcher, simple loose clean arm action. Fastball only in the upper 60's has a chance to be really good down the road. A strike thrower, with good spin and action on secondary.
