BEST IN SHOW

CLASS OF 2024

*Each of the following prospects are still uncommitted, at the time of this post.

+ At the PBRT Alabama Fall Open, 2B/OF Owen Phillips (Silverdale Baptist HS, TN, 2024) was a key piece for the Mission offense throughout the weekend that helped lead them to a perfect 4-0 over at Sand Mountain Park. Phillips is a middle-of-the-order power potential threat at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds from the left side of the dish. Took some aggressive hacks during his at-bats, relaxed look in the box and often looks to lift in the swing. Contributed to the offense on Saturday with a deep, go ahead sac fly in the late innings to help secure their win. Showed the two strike approach on Sunday as he would go down in the zone for an offering and send it back up the middle of the field for an RBI single. Solid uncommitted follow in Tennessee's 2024 class.

Owen Phillips (9/9/23)

+ RHP/OF Max Waldschmidt (Iowa City HS, IA, 2024) is one of PBR Iowa’s top-ranked uncommitted seniors. Listed at a strong, athletic 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, Waldschmidt has reached the low-90s at various points this year. Over the weekend in Iowa, Waldschmidt lived in the 85-88 mph range more often, though with greater control, and he paired the fastball with a slider, 79-80 mph, with shorter action. A quick-armed prospect worth monitoring throughout this fall.
