Yesterday, we updated the class rankings and previewed the region semifinals slated for Monday night, and they outcomes did not disappoint with some great games across the state as teams battled with their seasons on the line. Of the sixteen AAA matchups, six matchups were decided by 2 runs or less and there were some dominant pitching performances as losing clubs averaged less than one run/game. Below we highlight the big time AAA matchups, sharing game results, and a look ahead to Wednesday's Region championships as the 2021 TN HS Season continues.
Big Time Matchups Recap:
#8 Hardin Valley at #5 Powell
ETSU commit Logen Sutton ripped a two run home run in the bottom of the first and Sr. southpaw Coltin Reynolds (Walters State commit) tossed a one run CG to go 10-0 on the year and advance the Panthers to the Region Championship where they'll matchup with no. 3 Farragut.

#9 Mt. Juliet at #4 Clarksville
We knew this would be a clash of two excellent ball clubs, who had the talent and eyes set on making a run to the Spring Fling, and it's safe to say it lived up to the expectations. Clarksville's Brody Lanham (Uncommitted) and Mt. Juliet's Austin Hunley (Tennessee commit) both worked overtime last night as Hunley tossed 8 frames of two hit ball w 0 ER and Lanham pitched into the 9th with 0 ER. Kyle Magrans (Vanderbilt commit) came on in the 9th with bases loaded and two outs to strike out the batter to end the Golden Bears threat. He followed it up with a 2-run homer to walk it off in the bottom of the 9th sending the ballpark into a frenzy and the Wildcats to the region championship.
#LeafPreps Damn! Walkoff 2 run blast from @kylemagrans to send @ClkHighBaseball to the R5 championship. What a shot.@ClkHighBaseball 3@MJbearsbaseball 1

#11 Ravenwood at #15 Overton
It was a tough night for Overton as they saw their region semifinal losing streak extend to eight in a 2-0 loss to Ravenwood. Southwest TN CC commit Tuane Cope provided an excellent start, but the Raptors were able to scratch a run in the 4th and one more in the 6th. 11-AAA pitcher of the year Luke Kocian kept the Bobcat offense at bay before turning it over to 11-AAA player of the year Blake Bevis, who tossed 2.1 clean innings to secure the victory and get Ravenwood back on track.

Back in action on Wednesday at Indy @ 6PM for the region finals. Thank you to all the former Raptors players and parents who came out to the game last night. We really appreciate the support.
#12 Stewarts Creek at #16 Lincoln County
Stewarts Creek delivered the first big punch as '22 SS Cooper Newsom (Uncommitted) smashed a two-run home run to LF in the top of the first, then followed it up with a 2-run triple to make it a 5-0 early. Sr. southpaw Austin Wooten (Army commit) delivered a solid start keeping Lincoln Co. off balanced offensively and providing good length building off early lead. Lincoln Co. would settle in and have some opportunities later in the game, loading the bases in the 5th, but a crucial doubt play allowed the Redhawks to escape the threat and secure a 5-1 win.
It was ‘22 MINF @cooper_newsom’s night as he goes two for three w/ a 2-run homer to LF and this 2-run triple into the RCF gap to propel @Redhawks_7AAA to a 5-1 win over Lincoln Co to advance to Region finals. #ShapeTheState @PBR_Uncommitted pic.twitter.com/84cvtu4Dqm
