2019 UIL Team Preview: Oak Ridge

The Texas high school season kicks off on February 21, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 25, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.
Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW
After making a run to the regional quarterfinals, Oak Ridge depth in bunches in the field and on the mound. Oak Ridge has six returning starting in senior OF/RHP Logan Letney (No. 56 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings and No. 462 in 2019 PBR overall rankings, committed to TCU), senior RHP/IF Kevin Skweres (committed to Richland College), senior RHP/IF Blane Romero (No. 98 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings, committed to McNeese State), senior SS Carson Ogilvie (committed to Hill JC), senior RHP Trey Valka (No. 93 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings, committed to Arkansas) and senior OF Cole Rollins. Also returning this year on the bump is senior LHP Colby Wyers (committed to University of Incarnate Word). Coach Peirce is also expecting a handful of newcomers to make contributions to the squad this season in junior IF Hunter Cramer (No. 43 in 2020 PBR Texas rankings and No. 304 in 2020 PBR overall rankings, committed to Arkansas), junior IF Lance Hicks (No. 191 in 2020 PBR Texas rankings), junior C/RHP Bryce Lewis, junior UTL Zach Easterling, junior IF/RHP Gabriel Pacheco, junior RHP Cole Beddingfield and junior OF Kaden Deberardinis.
