CYPRESS, TX - Cy Ranch hosted Bryan in a district 14-6A matchup on Friday afternoon.

2019 RHP JJ Goss (No. 2 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings, No. 7 in 2019 PBR overall rankings and No. 11 in 2019 PBR Draft Board; committed to Texas A&M) got the start for Cy Ranch on the mound. He threw a five-inning no-hitter with two walks with nine strikeouts.

Offensively, 2019 SS Jake Combs (No. 66 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings, committed to Louisiana-Lafayette) had a big day for Cy Ranch. He was 2-for-2 with a walk, two three-run home runs including the walkoff home run and six RBI. 2019 C Jared Alvarez-Lopez (No. 23 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings and No. 184 in 2019 PBR overall rankings, committed to McNeese State) was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run while Goss added in two hits of his own.

JJ Goss, RHP, Cy Ranch, 2019
Texas A&M commit. Estimated 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic, wiry frame. The right-hander throws from a high ¾ slot with a short arm swing. His fastball was 89-92 mph throughout the outing. Command of the fastball was on point in the 3rd-5th innings, spotting up on both sides of the sides and up and down in the zone. He also threw a slider that was 80-81 mph with 10-4 action, mainly thrown as a swing and miss pitch, flashing the ability to land in the zone for a strike. He also flashed a changeup that was 84-85 mph with depth.
