DALLAS, TX- Heres a look at some of the top performers from day one of the Dallas Patriots Tournament at DBU.
Sam Crowell, 2020, C, Rockwall Heath, (Dallas Patriots 17u)
The Uncommitted 6’1” 200lb catcher has a projectable frame with room to put on more muscle as he develops. Was very good behind the plate both receiving and throwing, has soft hands and displayed a strong arm in between innings and on some back picks throughout the game. Liked his aggressive approach at the plate. Very rhythmic hitter with an early leg kick and backside gather. Creates nice stretch and separation with his hands during the load and the hands and hips work well together from there.

Has some projectability at 6’1” 200lbs, very rhythmic hitter with an early load/backside gather. Good catch and throw guy behind the plate as well. @PBR_Texas @DallasPatriots pic.twitter.com/QsoFEZpAny
Bajram Dervisevic, 2020, RHP, Saint Joseph Academy, (Dallas Patriots 17u)
The uncommitted 6’2” 195lb righty break his hands at the belt area for a longer arm swing but maintains a clean arm path through finish. Does a good job using his lower half directionally and creates a positive disconnect between his upper and lower half. Came into the game from the bullpen and challenged hitters with his fastball which sat 84-86 topping 87. He flashed some curveballs with a 1/7 shape in warmups at 67-70.
