WACO, TX - Even with the recruiting process getting earlier every year, in a state like Texas, there are still quality arms with upside looking for the right program. In the pitching analysis from our Fall Kickoff Showcase Games there are several unsigned seniors that college recruiters will want to know about.

Outfielders

+ Austin Plante, OF/1B, Lake Travis HS, 2019
Uncommitted. Plante passes the eye test with his strong, broad shouldered, high-waisted, 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame. The junior is a solid athlete with all-around feel for both the outfield and first base. A left-handed hitter, Plante showed off his strength during batting practice by rattling balls of the aluminum center field wall. Ball jumps off his bat, easy bat speed, simple swing with strength, projectable hitter at the next level with more power likely to come. Plante plays through the ball with smooth rhythm and timing, quick exchange and easy gather. Arm works well from a short, high-¾ arm stroke, accurate throws with carry in the outfield at 89 mph. Good footwork around the bag at first base during the game. With his size, athleticism and strong left-handed bat, Plante will be a valuable addition to a recruiting class.

+ Riley Lambert, OF, Midway HS, 2018
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 160-pound, quick-twitch frame. Lambert started the day by running a 6.98 60-yard dash. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter showed a relaxed, line-drive approach with loose hands and smooth rhythm. He has a flat path, quick hands, and whips the barrel through the zone with relative ease. Showed up on time and peppered the middle of the field with hard liners to the outfield, as well as getting to balls on the inner half. During the game, he walked, stole a base, and grounded out on the barrel to second base, running a 4.36 down the line. In the outfield, Lambert moves with easy athleticism and rhythm, clean exchange into his crow hop, long arm stroke from a high slot with a quick hand back to front. Good carry and accuracy with a top velocity of 89 mph.

+ Ryant Hunt, OF, Marcus HS, 2018
Uncommitted. Hunt has added strength to his frame since the summer, now standing 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, with a more physical look to his upper body. The right-handed hitter took a solid round of batting practice, showing good pop to the pull side with hard, loud contact and carry. Starts from a slightly open stance, smooth load, early rhythm, sinks into his lower half with a long stride and walks away from his hands with good separation. Flat path into and through the zone, strong hands at contact. In the outfield, Hunt has average footwork and hands, accurate arm with some carry at 81 mph.

+ Andrew Sanders, OF, Midway HS, 2019
5-foot-7, 165-pound frame. In the outfield, Sanders plays through the ball aggressively with quickish footwork, rhythm, soft hands, and a long exchange. He throws from a long, over the top arm slot with excellent accuracy and some carry at 82 mph. A right-handed hitter, Sanders had a sharp single to right field during the game. He starts from a neutral stance and loads early with a two-piece, low-hanging toe-tap as he pinches his knees together. Engages his hands back as he strides out, lands balanced, flat path with an exit velocity of 78 mph off the tee.

+ Luis Lara, OF/2B, Hutto HS, 2020
5-foot-8, 155-pound frame. Lara showed athletic actions in the outfield with fluid rhythm, soft hands, quick exchange and athletic crow-hop. His arm works quick from a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy to the plate with good carry. A right-handed hitter, Lara starts from an open stance with his front foot turned in, and his hands set close to his ear. Simple load, short stride, lands balanced. During the game he barreled up a curveball to centerfield. Registered an exit velocity of 72 mph off the tee.

+ Joseph Redfield, OF/2B, Midway HS, 2020
Redfield has a projectable, high-waisted frame at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. The left-handed hitter starts from an open stance, turns inward to load, striding toward the plate. Good lower half transfer with balance, level path with an exit velocity of 76 mph off the tee. During the game, Redfield stole a bag, grounded out to second, flew out to center, and was hit by a pitch. In the outfield, Redfield plays through the catch with a smooth crow hop, clean transfer, and athletic lower half. Long arm swing with a top outfield velocity of 78 mph.

+ Clint Wellbrock, OF/SS, Midway HS, 2019
5-foot-9, 142-pound frame. Started the day by posting a 7.2 60-yard dash. A right-handed hitter, Wellbrock has good pre-pitch rhythm in his hands from a tall stance. Smooth load back, barrel gets on plane early, level path, line drive power with an exit velocity of 75 mph. During the game, he laced a single to center field. In the outfield, Wellbrock has a clean arm stroke from a high slot and threw a top velocity of 82 mph to the plate.

+ Logan Ballard, OF, Hutto HS, 2019
6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide, balanced stance. Simple load back, slight bat wrap, short stride, short inside-out path with line drive power with an exit velocity of 83 mph. In the outfield, Ballard throws from an over the top slot with a short arm swing at 76 mph.
