Today we bring you a combination of coverage with some of the top players in the Metroplex, as well as Prep Baseball Report Texas’ Junior College coverage.

+ 2018 RHP Jacob Burton (New Diana HS) is an Arkansas recruit with a solid three-pitch mix. The right-hander is listed at 6-foot, 160-pounds, he works from a high slot and pumped his fastball 90-91 mph in the first inning with good tilt, settling into 87-89 mph in the second. Adding to his repertoire is a tight slider that he commands for strikes with 11/5 shape and sharp downward bite at 78-80 mph. He also has a 79-80 mph changeup that he throws with fastball arm speed and arm side fade.
+ This was the third time in eight days we were able to see a couple of uncommitted arms from the Metroplex. 2018 RHP Mason Hilton (Weatherford HS) has a lean, long-limbed frame at 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, and is currently ranked No. 128 in Texas. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with quick arm stroke. His fastball ranged from 86-89 mph, flashing arm side run. His slider has short lateral movement at 78-80 mph, with more cutting action. Between his projectable frame and movement on his fastball and slider, Hilton has a lot of upside and would be a solid addition to a recruiting class. 2018 RHP Connery Peters (Joshua HS) has gotten sharper each time we have seen him (3 outings in 8 days). Peters has a strong frame at 6-foot-6, 235-pounds, and works from a high-¾ slot. Last night his fastball was 89-90 mph and once again, flashed heavy arm side life below the belt. His slider is more of a put-away pitch that he throws out of the zone in even - and two strike counts, coming in with sharp 11/5 bite at 79-82.
