Godley Uses Early Lead To Defeat Alvarado

Godley, TX - The Godley Wildcats hosted the Alvarado Indians in a district game with first pitch occurring near the 2 o’clock hour on Tuesday, March 13. The contest featured  2018 SS Brett Brown on the mound for the Wildcats and RHP Nic Woods opposing for the Indians.

Brown, a Texas A&M commit, was spectacular for the Wildcats, going 4 innings, striking out 5 batters, and surrendering a lone run. Godley was led offensively by Tad Thompson, an Odessa JC commit, and Taylor Grimes, an Illinois State football commit. Both had big homeruns and combined 5 RBI on the day. Alvarado was lead by leadoff hitter and shortstop Jacob Syrus who had 2 of the teams 6 hits.  Final Score, Godley 13, Alvarado 1.
