Lake Dallas Defeats Little Elm 6-2 In District 14-5A Matchup

LITTLE ELM, TX - The Lake Dallas Falcons traveled to Little Elm on Wednesday in District 14-5A matchup that may have significant postseason implications. Junior right-hander Mason Meeks took the mound for the Falcons and went seven complete innings for the 6-2 victory of Little Elm.

Lake Dallas started the scoring in the top of the second inning, putting up two runs on back-to-back RBI hits by Chris Slater and Alex Peppard. Little Elm answered with a run of thier own in the bottom half of the second when Zach Emminizer put down a squeeze bunt to score J.J. Kruzel.

Lake Dallas would put up another two runs in the top of the fourth when Jakob Machuca scored on an error and Alex Peppard drove in his second run of the game on a single. 2019 RHP Logan Kohler, an Oklahoma recruit, went 5.2 strong innings, allowing only one earned run on five hits and two walks. But Lake Dallas was able to capitalize on Little Elm’s defensive miscues.

In the top of the sixth Lake Dallas would put the nail in the coffin with two more runs, this time on solo homeruns by Braden Maiwald and Alex Peppard.

The Little Elm Lobos had opportunities to score, but struggled to drive in runs, leaving eight men on base. Final Score, Lake Dallas 6, Little Elm 2. With less than 10 days left in the regular season, Lake Dallas got one game closer to clinching a spot in playoffs as they move to 7-4 in District. Little Elm falls to 8-3 in District, but holds on to the third spot in the league, setting up a huge retmatch between these two teams on Friday.
