Uncommitted Upperclass- DFW: Quick Hits

McKINNEY, T.X. - On June 9, our PBR Texas Staff hosted our Uncommitted Upperclassmen to a much anticipated showcase and trials on the confines of Diamond Kings Baseball Academy. The event featured a talented group of uncommitted upperclassmen in the 2020-2021 classes. Today we kickoff our post event coverage with our Quick Hits Notebook on few prospects who made a strong impressions. 


Justin Long C / RHP / Kingwood, TX / 2020

Long stood out once again on the mound, sitting 88-90 mph, topping out at 91.6 mph with his last pitch of the day. Curveball flashed good depth as well. Showed a clean, smooth swing at the plate with gap-to-gap power, having a max exit velocity of 96 mph. Also had a 1.91 pop time with accurate, strong throws.  

Nick Lazzara C / 1B / Jesuit College Prep, TX / 2021

Solid, switch-hitting catcher that gets good extension from both sides of the plate, with a max exit velocity of 93 mph. Soft blocker with good arm strength throwing 80 mph from behind the plate with a 1.94 pop time.  

Cooper Hrbacek RHP / Wylie, TX / 2021

RHP with a quick, short arm swing that featured a fastball up to 88 with good ride up in the zone. Curveball flashed sharp 11/5 action at 71-72 mph with a 76-77 mph changeup.

Kevin Duran SS / OF / Cleburne, TX / 2021

Physical, athletic infielder that moved well and launched balls deep to the pull side throughout his round of BP.

Chayton Krauss 1B / RHP / Coppell, TX / 2021

Big body 1B/RHP at 6-3, 215 pounds. His round of BP consisted of lots of loud contact with a max exit velocity of 99 mph. On the mound, fastball was up to 87 mph with a curveball flashing depth at 70-71 

Griffin Binkley RHP / 3B / Mansfield Legacy, TX / 2021

Lean, athletic hitter that hits ball with authority to the pull side throughout his round of BP with a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Moved really well on the field with clean actions and a strong arm that was up to 89 mph across the infield. 



Cade HollingsworthRHP/1B. Independence (TN), 2021
Big, right-handed bat with a simple setup with a leg kick, gets good extension on his swing, driving balls from gap-to-gap. Had a max exit velocity of 98 mph. Moved well at 1B with soft hands and ability to get off the bag and field the errant throws.
