SCOUT NOTES
Hunter Simon 2020 3B Mansfield HS Arlington A’s D. Acton
The uncommitted 6’0” 190lb is a physical kid who constantly has good at bats that end with hard contact. Has displayed a mature disciplined approach hitting balls to all parts of the field. Starts with a balanced setup and uses a small leg kick that lands a little bit closed. Plays a really good third base with a very strong arm, throws have carry across the diamond.

Physical kid that makes a lot of hard contact. Takes quality at bats & has a good approach at the plate. Good defender at third with a very strong arm. @PBR_Texas@arlingtonas1988 pic.twitter.com/E2yTFTl210
TJ Pound 2020 SS Burleson HS Fort Worth Cats
It is apparent when watching TJ that the uncommitted 6’0” 185lb shortstop really enjoys being at the field playing the game of baseball. Has an early leg kick that hangs as he loads into his back hip. Hands and hips work well together generating torque and bat speed on contact. Body moves freely during the swing allowing him to make adjustments on the fly to get the barrel on the baseball. Showed some really good instincts on the base paths as well as being a smooth defender with a strong arm.

Zach Peters 2020 RHP Joshua HS Arlington A’s D. Acton
The uncommitted 6’5” 205lb righty has a projectable frame with upside still to come. Does a nice job of using his other aspects of his body to pitch besides just his arm. Weight transfer into the lead leg combined with the pulldown of his glove side arm takes pressure and stress off his throwing arm. Starts on the first base side of the rubber stepping toward RHH’s before working across his front hip creating some tough angles for hitters. Fastball was 85-87 topping 89 with some life. Showed a feel for the curveball at 74-76 that had 1/7 shape throwing it for strikes and also out of the zone as a put away pitch. Flashed a few changeups at 76-78.

The 6’5” 205lb righty has a protectable frame, & a lot of upside. Fastball has some late life, shown a feel for a CB with 1/7 shape, & flashed a few CH.
