Summer Creek vs. Pasadena Dobie

MANVEL, TX - Pasadena Dobie hosted Summer Creek at Manvel HS on Thursday night.

Summer Creek 2019 RHP Andre Duplantier (No. 25 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings and No. 196 in 2019 PBR overall rankings, committed to Texas) was in control of the game the entire night. At the plate, he had an RBI in the middle of a five-run 1st inning for Summer Creek. 2019 3B Michael Gonzalez, 2020 OF Kenneth Booker and 2020 DH Anthony Hall all had RBI of their own in the five-run inning as well. 2019 OF Dylan Smith, who led the team with three hits, added an RBI double of his own in the 4th before Hall added another RBI on a 6th inning double, his second of the game.

On the mound for Duplantier, he was solid. He threw a complete game allowing one run on two hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Duplantier mixed three pitches well after establishing his fastball early and often.

Dobie scores their one run in the 6th inning when 2020 OF Christian Cleckly walked and then came around later in the inning on an RBI groundout from 2019 OF John Moreno.

Andre Duplantier, RHP, Summer Creek, 2019
Texas commit. Estimated 6-foot-2, 190-pound athletic, projectable frame with a high waist. The right-hander throws from a ¾ slot with a long arm swing. His fastball was 89-92 mph early on and settled in at 88-90 later in the game. Commanded the fastball to both sides of the plate and low in the zone and flashed arm-side run into righties. Threw a big curveball at 77-78 mph with 11-5 action with the ability to land it in the zone for strikes and swing and misses outside the zone, primarily to his glove side. Also threw a changeup at 76-77 mph that flashed late arm-side run. Out of the stretch, he was 1.35-1.4 to the plate. At the plate, the right-handed hitter gets started with a high leg lift with a quick, long swing.
