10.5.16

Rye Gunter, RHP, 2018
The uncommitted junior stands 6-foot-5, 200-pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame. Works from a high-¾ slot with loose, quick arm action. His fastball ranging from 86-89 mph with good arm-side life. His breaking ball has slurve type action at 70-72 mph. With the frame, arm action and life on the fastball; could make some significant jumps in the near future.

Campbell Schultz, RHP/1B, 2017
6-foot-1, 190-pound strong frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot, whippy, quick arm action with some deception as there is a reach when he separates his hands. His fastball ranged from 85-87 mph. His best offspeed pitch was his changeup that showed great depth at 77 mph. His breaking pitch had loose spin at 72 mph. The two-way player also showed off some pop in the bat as he had two doubles, both to left-center. He has a quiet setup with good bat speed. High academic student.

Jacob Nesbitt, SS, 2017
Arkansas commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound, athletic frame. The shortstop showed lots of range on the infield with long strides and good footwork. Showed great arm strength with carry on a nice play in the 6-hole. Offensively was 1-1 with a base hit and a walk.

Trey Becerra, 1B/RHP, 2017
Navarro JC commit. 6-foot-2, 200-pound strong frame. Works from an over-the-top arm slot with his fastball sitting 86-87 mph. His curveball has 12-6 action at 72 mph. The right-handed hitter showed great bat speed taking aggressive swings with good leverage.

Austin Gross, 3B, 2017
Howard JC commit. 6-foot-1, 200 pound frame. The corner infielder has solid actions working from the midline with good arm action and carry on his throws.

Mason Holt, OF/IF, 2017
Navarro JC commit. 5-foot-9, 165 pound wiry, strong frame. Athletic player with good arm strength, shows the ability to play multiple positions on the field. Shows an above average run tool with long strides, quick feet and good acceleration.

Clayton Jones, RHP, 2017
6-foot-1, 180-pound, lean muscular frame. Works from a low-¾ slot with long arm action. In one inning of action his fastball ranged from 83-85 mph, topping out once at 87 mph. The fastball has some arm-side run and sink. The slider was 75-76 mph with some good, tight, late life. Lacks varsity innings because of the high-end arms that Coppell has produced, but with low miles on the arm and recent strength gains he could make some significant jumps. High academic student.
