PLANO, TX - Here are some highlights from Prep Baseball Report’s Upperclass Games, hosted at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, TX on Saturday, October 7. Here are some quick notes from the day.

2018 Grant Georges (Flower Mound HS) is an uncommitted left-hander that stands 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with a projectable frame. He works from a ¾ slot smooth, repeatable delivery. Fastball comes out clean at 83-85 mph with arm side run and sink, but the best pitch in his arsenal is what Georges calls a cutter at 77-82 mph. The pitch has two different types of action, at 79-82 mph it will dart in hard to RHH’s, other times the pitch will have more depth and 10/4 shape at 77-79 mph. For good measure, Georges mixes in a changeup at 77 mph and a true curveball with 11/5 shape at 69-73 mph.

2018 Drew Kennedy (Flower Mound HS) is an uncommitted OF/RHP. Kennedy blasted a home run left of centerfield, ran 6.86 60, and threw with high end accuracy at 88 mph from the outfield. On the the mound, the right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a long arm stroke and all three pitches coming from the same window. Quick hand from back to front, his fastball ranging from 81-84 mph. Good feel for off-speed with a sharp cutter that has more 11/5 slider shape at  at 75-76 mph. Also has a good changeup that he throws with fastball arm speed at 67-70 mph.

Uncommitted 2018 LHP Duke Jordan (Hudson HS) has a strong, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds. The left-hander works from a high slot with a short, quick arm stroke. Jordan’s fastball has good angle at 84-87 mph. Big breaking curveball at 66-68 mph with 12/6 shape. Changeup comes in at 74-76 mph.

Clayton Price (J.J. Pearce HS) has a ton of upside with an athletic, high-waisted frame at 6-foot-1, 178-pounds. The right-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long, whippy arm stroke and an athletic lower half. His fastball has late arm side life at 84-85 mph, topping out at 86 mph. He throws a firm slider at 76-79 mph with developing shape that should continue to progress the more that he throws it.

Riley Lambert (Midway HS) is a quick-twitch, left-handed hitting outfielder that has solid projectable tools. He has a smooth swing with a loose finish and good barrel awareness, ran a 6.89 60, 4.25 home to first on a hard ground ball to shortstop, stole second and third base, threw 85 mph from the outfield, and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph.

2019 OF Payne McKay (Canyon HS) has life in his hack with loose hands and strength at contact. The right-handed hitter stands 6-foot, 170-pounds, he smoked a triple to left-centerfield running a 4.83 on the turn, and hammered a deep fly ball to centerfield.

2019 SS Nate White (Arlington HS) swung a hot bat on Saturday, going 2-for-3 with a triple to right-centerfield and a double to deep left field on a hard sinking 86 mph fastball. His only out was a deep fly ball to centerfield. White stands 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, and has smooth footwork, soft hands, and mid-line exchange at shortstop.

Uncommitted 2018 C Josh Trahan (College Park HS) has a strong frame at 6-foot, 185-pounds, with a good arm behind the dish. Trahan topped out at 79 mph from the crouch on throws to second base with his pop times of 1.94, 1.97, 2.01, 2.07, 2.11. Trahan registered an exit velocity of 89 mph off the tee and he ran a 7.18 60.

2019 SS Tyler Wade (Midland HS) continues to impress with his all-around athleticism and presence in the middle of the field. Wade has a loose, athletic, quick twitch frame with solid strength and lots of upside. He posted an exit velocity of 91 mph and threw 87 mph across the infield.

2018 SS Michael Bernhardt (L.D. Bell HS) is a solid defender with quick rhythm, smooth footwork, and a quick exchange on the infield. He made several play where he showed plus range and soft hands.

Dylan Strater (Liberty HS) is a dynamic catcher/infielder at 5-foot-8, 170-pounds. Strater threw 86 mph on the infield and 76 mph from the crouch with pop times of 2.08-2.19. The right-handed hitter has good power for his size with a short stroke and loose hands, launched balls to left field during BP, including a home run.

2018 OF Thomas Cain (Flower Mound HS) crushed a ball to deep centerfield, singled to left and laced a double off the top of the left field wall, running a 4.62 on the turn at first.
