Whitehouse defeated Lindale by mercy rule, 13-0 on Friday night in Whitehouse. Clayton Pruitt, a Southern Arkansas recruit, threw a shortened four inning, complete game no-hitter, striking out nine Lindale batters.
Whitehouse scored two runs in the first inning when Tanner Roach led off the game with a double down the left field line off Lindale starter, lefty Nick Norton. Center fielder Mason House drove in Roach with a solid base hit to put Whitehouse on top 1-0. House stole second and was driven home by Skyler Trevino to make it 2-0.
In the second inning Whitehouse plated six runs and knocked out Lindale’s starter. Whitehouse first baseman Patrick Miner led off the inning with a double off the left center field wall. Brandon Rossiter followed with a base hit and Clayton Pruitt bunted for an rbi base hit, then Rossiter scored on throwing error to make the score 4-0. Roach plated Pruitt with his second line drive double down the left field line to make it 5-0. After Mason House was intentionally walked, a two-RBI double by Connor Clark made the score 7-0. Lindale then went to right-handed pitcher Kale Walters. Walters did a great job limiting the damage. He recorded the final two outs and Whitehouse only one unearned run.
Walters put up a zero for Lindale in the third, but Whitehouse scored five runs in the fourth inning, initiating the run rule and the 13-0 win.
