Winn & Richardson Homer To Lead Kingwood 12-0 Over Summer Creek

HOUSTON, TX- Kingwood HS, ranked No. 20 in the PBR Texas Power 25, traveled to Summer Creek HS on Tuesday. Lubbock Christian commit, 2018 LHP Cody Lancaster got the start for Kingwood, and 2019 RHP Jared Silva took the mound for Summer Creek.
Kingwood got on the board early when sophomore Stanford commit, Masyn Winn, hit a 3 run home run to give kingwood a quick 3-0 lead. Winn is currently ranked No. 2 in the Texas 2020 Class, No. 11 Overall. , they would later add 2 more runs before the conclusion of the inning when 2019 non commit Ryan Michie would single to left driving in a run.
Summer Creek went to the pen early, and Kingwood did not slow down. They added another run in the 5th on a Luke Johnson RBI single. In the 6th, 2020 SS Tre Richardson (Houston commit) hit a towering home run over the left field wall. Richardson is ranked No. 21 in the Texas 2020 Class. Shortly after, Luke Johnson doubled to right-centerfield, and Minchie and Lucks drove in three more with RBI knocks. This would conclude Kingwood’s six-run 6th inning.
Cody Lancaster pitched great for Kingwood, showing great command throughout the game, changing speed on his pitches making it hard for the hitters to know what’s coming next. He allowed just two hits in his stellar complete game performance and will look to help Kingwood continue their early success in the season. Final Score: Kingwood 12, Summer Creek 0.
