We start our Preseason Power 25 with the defending 5A State Champion Douglas Freeman Mavericks. The Mavericks lost a lot off of last year's team, but return some pivotal top of the order bats. Ryan Bland, Lee Sowers (Virginia Tech), Miguel Martin (Randolph-Macon), and Ryder Warren will be just a few of the familiar faces. Add in recent UVA commit Finn Whipple to the order, potential contributions from Sam Flippin, and transfer arm Cayman Goode, Freeman has a chance to be a force in the Richmond area again. They will have to find a way to replace some of the big innings that their graduated seniors threw, but if Goode can be reliable it will give them a potential frontline arm.
