The PBR IA Prospect ID- Quad Cities event took place on Sunday, April 28, 2019. The event was held at the TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf, IA.

Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff in a pro-style showcase. Thank you to the players, parents, my staff and the TBK Bank Sports Complex for participating in a quality event.

There were a number of great individual performances this year at the PBR IA Prospect ID- Quad Cities event.

Zane Beebe, OF/RHP, Davenport North, 2021
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.28 runner. Square stance with body load, some rhythm in hands, line drive swing plane, stiffer finish through swing, shows best contact when stays with middle of field approach and drives through baseball, 84 mph exit velocity. Avg. momentum, tends to stop to field, avg. accuracy and carry to target, stiffer one piece arm action, 78 mph arm strength from outfield.

Colby Cheney, OF, Ankeny, 2020
5-foot-9, 150-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. 7.01 runner. Closed stance with narrow base, inverted path through contact, barrel tends to exit hitting zone early, solid contact to middle of field, roll-over contact to pull side of field, 79 mph exit velocity. Solid athlete, lighter on feet, avg. tempo to field and throw, pie arm action, lacks carry and accuracy to target, front side tends to fly open on throws, 77 mph arm strength from outfield.

Bennett Cutsforth, OF, Dubuque Wahlert, 2020
6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 6.93 runner. Open stance, rocks back with body load, occasional length to contact with arm bar in load, drives ball well gap to gap with flashes of above avg. pop in bat to pull side of field, 88 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, creates direction with feet, longer arm path, avg. carry and accuracy, hands are sure, solid actions, profiles as left fielder at college level, 77 mph arm strength from outfield.

Xavier Deal, OF/RHP, Port Washington (WI), 2020
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.20 runner. Crouched stance, leg kick trigger, pre-set arm bar, length to contact, firm top spin ground ball contact, 85 mph exit velocity. Solid athlete in field, works through ball, sure hands, slingy arm action, solid overall arm with accuracy to target, 82 mph arm strength from outfield.

Hudson Deal, UTL/RHP, Port Washington (WI), 2021
5-foot-11, 187-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 8.03 runner. Slightly open stance, slight arm bar, solid pop in bat to pullside, looks to elevate, dead pull approach, 79 mph exit velocity. Higher fielding position, extra glove pats to time ball, avg. actions, heavier feet in infield, shows accuracy and carry to bag, 75 mph arm strength across infield. Works through ball well, good direction with feet, compact arm action, has carry and accuracy to target, 80 mph arm strength from outfield.

Nate Dierickx, LHP/OF, Durant, 2021
6-foot, 156-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.33 runner. Square stance, body load, leads with hips into contact, short finish through, shows solid pop in bat to middle/pull side of field, 72 mph exit velocity. Avg. tempo working through baseball, short crow crow hop, low slinging arm action, quick release on throws, online to target with accuracy and avg. carry, 83 mph arm strength from outfield.

Peter Espensen, OF/RHP, West Branch, 2020
6-foot-4, 200-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.21 runner. Square stance, double tap trigger with body load, shows bat speed and extension through contact, has pop in bat to right-center gap, pull approach, 92 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, higher fielding position, follows throws to target, has carry and accuracy, 80 mph arm strength from outfield.

Aidan Fitzgibbon, RHP/OF, Pleasant Valley, 2020
5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.70 runner. Crouched square stance, body load, has rhythm in hands, consistently squares baseball. Drives ball well to mid/oppo side of field, tends to roll-over to pull side, 82 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, feels deep into body, avg. hands with solid footwork, has carry and accuracy to bag, 73 mph arm strength across infield. Works through ball with sure hands, solid accuracy, lacks carry on throws, 75 mph arm strength from outfield.

Gage Franck, OF, Marion, 2021
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 7.05 runner. Square stance, slight body load, arm bar creating length, shows quick hands in swing, best contact to pull side of field with good extension through baseball, tends to flare to mid/oppo side of field, 81 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, tends to squat to field, has direction with feet on throws, accelerates through release well, solid/avg. overall arm, 81 mph arm strength from outfield.

Caden Kipper, 3B/OF, Pleasant Valley, 2021
6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitting utility player. 6.96 runner. Athletic with present strength, square stance, drives through contact well with lower half, shows pop in bat to pull side of field, also has ability to drive ball oppo, consistently squares baseball, 86 mph exit velocity. Tends to field on side in outfield, light on his feet, works through ball, sure hands in field, follows throws, shows solid accuracy and carry to target, 81 mph arm strength from infield and outfield.

Carson Knebel, RHP/OF, Pleasant Valley, 2022
6-foot-3, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.60 runner. Square stance, leg kick trigger, long arm bar creating length to contact, shows some pop in bat with long levers, 76 mph exit velocity. Avg. actions in field, requires development mechanically, long arm swing, shows accuracy and carry to target, 76 mph arm strength from outfield.

Jose Lara, OF, Pleasant Valley, 2020
6-foot-1, 180-pound switch-hitting outfielder. Currently the #21 ranked player in Iowa 2020 class. Lara burst back onto the scene after battling through back issues his sophomore summer. Has a projectable build with lean present strength and an above avg. level of athleticism. The switch-hitting outfielder ran a 6.65 60 to start the event. Shows similar swings from both sides of the plate, has a quick bat with above avg. pop to the middle of the field, and uses the gaps well. Consistent 89 mph exit velocities from both sides of the plate. Easy actions with appropriate footwork in the field, hands are sure, follows throws, has cut action on throws effecting carry but is online and accurate to the target, 90 mph arm strength from outfield.

Drew Micek, OF, Pleasant Valley, 2022
5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 7.13 runner. Slightly open stance, small body load, hands are stiff occasionally through contact, best contact is to middle/pull side of field, line drive and fly ball approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, active to ball, works through, online throws with compact arm action, has carry and accuracy to target, 82 mph arm strength from outfield.

Jacob Norris, OF/RHP, Iowa City Liberty, 2020
6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.19 runner. Body load with double tap trigger, slight arm bar, stays compact with arms through swing, consistently barrels baseball, shows ability to drive balls to both gaps, 84 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, works low to ground, shows solid footwork, hands work in the field, fields underneath body occasionally, has accuracy to bag, 79 mph arm across infield. Long and athletic in field, sure hands, works through ball, long clean arm action, above avg. carry and accuracy to target, 88 mph arm strength from outfield.

Archer Ogbourne, OF/IF, Carlisle, 2022
5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting position player. 6.70 runner. Body load, line drive swing, consistently barrels baseball, shows rhythm in swing, consistent quality gap to gap approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Sure hands with slight stiffness, shows athleticism and solid actions for age, has accuracy to bag on throws, 74 mph arm across infield. Sure hands, good timing to field, elevated throws to target with avg. carry and accuracy, 74 mph arm strength from outfield.

Levi Quinlan, OF, Iowa City Regina, 2021
5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 6.69 runner. Wider square stance, front heel turn trigger, quick hands, pulls off contact occasionally, strength in pull side with hard line drive and fly ball contact, 82 mph exit velocity. Avg. outfield footwork and momentum, tends to use 2-hands, has athletic actions, should continue to develop with instruction, arm plays with accuracy and carry to bag, 81 mph arm strength from outfield.

Raymond Schlosser, C, Dubuque Senior, 2022
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.66 runner. Open stance, front heel turn trigger, line drive swing plane, dead pull approach, line drive and ground balls off bat, solid contact off barrel, 75 mph exit velocity. Works through baseball with avg. momentum, sure hands, compact arm action, throws lack carry to target but has accuracy, 71 mph arm from outfield. Solid receiver in zone, ball tends to pull glove away on pitches around outside of plate, some stiffness to actions, avg. blocker, clean exchanges to throw, some length to release, most throws inline but short to bag, 70 mph arm strength with 2.20-2.28 pop times.

Preston Van Wyk, OF, PCM, 2019
5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 6.62 runner. Square crouched stance, rotational hitter, lower hand slot, hard contact to pull gap, mid/pull approach, has athleticism and should continue to develop offensively with instruction, 81 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, covers ground well, sure hands, has above avg. carry and accuracy on throws, 83 mph arm strength from outfield. Currently uncommitted and should be a quality late addition to a college program.
