PBR Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week: RHP/INF Jack Poellot

RHP/INF Jack Poellot (Lake Country Lutheran, 2025) is a name who has impressed our staff, both on the mound and at the plate previously. In the last week for his Lake County Lutheran squad he helped them to a 4-0 record in which they outscored their opponents 72-0 and only gave up one hit across those four games.

This past week, the Lake County Lutheran Pitching staff put up unbelievable numbers, or lack thereof, in four games which included two no-hitters, a one-hitter and a perfect game. Poellot’s first appearance of the week came in Lake County Lutheran’s matchup with Kenosha Christian life where he got the no-hitter started in his three innings of work and also tallied seven strikeouts.

In the Saturday that followed Poellot once again toed the rubber against St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy where he continued to flat-out dominate. Poellot was the only arm that the Lightning would need in the run-rule shortened game as he was perfect across his five innings and also punched out 12 of the 15 batters he faced. Not only is the perfect game eye-popping in its own right but what might be even more impressive is that it took Poellot just 54 pitches to get through the game, and 42 of them were thrown for strikes.

Despite winning the ‘Pitcher of the Week’ honors for Week 3, Poellot has also been a key piece offensively for the Lightning and last week he went a perfect 7-for-7, with two doubles, two triples, and six RBIs.

For his efforts, Poellot has been named the PBR Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week, for the third week of WIAA action, ranging from Monday, April 10th to Sunday, April 16th. We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within Friday's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that by the end of this week.
