Preseason Power 25 Countdown: No. 6 Milwaukee Lutheran

The Wisconsin high school season kicks off on March 29, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on March 21, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

OUTLOOK
TD WalkerMilwaukee Lutheran finished the 2015 regular season with a sub .500 record at 12-13, and lost nine of there last eleven games heading into the state tournament. The Red Knights ran off seven straight wins to take the Division II state title. This season might be more of the same for the Red Knights as they play in the highly competitive Little Ten conference, and have the lowest enrollment in the conference. They are primed to repeat as D2 state champions again in 2016 as they bring back their top performers from a season ago. Senior Nick Winter was the top arm last year posting an 8-3 record with a 1.11 ERA, he also batted .476 to lead the team. Senior OF TD Walker was the team leader with 32 RBIs heading into the state tournament.
