Team Wisconsin: Game 3 Recap
August 3, 2019
Team Wisconsin finally got in the win column in their final contest of the PBR Future Games, beating Minnesota/Iowa in Game 3.
The Wisconsin bats woke up in a big way on on Saturday, and most notably the right-handed bat of Liam Stumpf (Mineral Point). Stumpf lead the offensive attack with a 2-for-3 day, including a double and a triple and driving in five RBI. Stumpf jumped on a pair of high fastballs for his extra base hits driving them to the gaps with authority.

Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie) was on the barrel again in Game 3 with three hard contacts to the middle of the field, including an RBI single. Luke Nowak (Menomonee Falls) also picked up where he left off getting on base in all three of his at bats including an infield single at 4.16 down the line and scoring a pair of runs. Tanner Marsh (Mondovi) also scored a pair of runs and got a hit in his only official at-bat, walking in his other two.
All of Game 1’s pitchers had another crack at the mound in Game 3 and showed just as well if not better in most cases. LHP Tommy Meyer (Wauwtosa East), RHP Drew Stippich (Kettle Moraine), RHP Tyler Peck (Oak Creek), LHP Blake Read (Muskego) and Logan Landers all had clean scoreless innings.
Read looked even sharper than his Game 1 outing sitting 83-84 mph and touching 85 mph. Logan Landers also showed at 83-85 mph and dropping a 12/6 curveball for strikes.
Wisconsin finished the week 1-2 with several individuals standing out in front of more than 300 college coaches from across the country. Stay tuned for full scouting reports on all players throughout the week.
