Southern Wisconsin Open: Pitcher Analysis

On Oct. 14, the PBR Wisconsin scouting staff traveled to STIKS Academy in Waukesha, Wis., to host the annual Southern Wisconsin Open event. This open showcase helped introduce us to some need-to-know players in the state that we’d not yet seen before, as well as provided us with updated looks at players who’ve earned our attention in the past.

Below is a look at all of the pitchers from the event with a few standouts that deserve a mention.

TOP PITCHERS

NO. 1 Eli Dreier SS / RHP / Wisconsin Lutheran , WI / 2027

Body: 6-1, 194-pounds. Projectable with present size and strength with more coming.
Delivery: High online leg tuck, athletic down the mound, uses lower half well, medium high leg swing finish to home with good direction.
Arm Action: RH. Medium online arc, quick arm, 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 84-85 mph. Forward life finish with good command. T2153, 2092 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. Sharpness to 11/5 breaker, can land. T2179, 2144 average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. More sweeping action than the CB. T2087, 1937 average rpm.

Delivery: Well sequenced, fluid, high slightly closed leg tuck, lands far down hill, high leg swing finish to home.
Arm Action: LH. Full swing, online, 3/4 slot, quick, whippy arm.
FB: T81, 78-80 mph. Life out of the hand, plays at the bottom of the zone, high spin. T2665, 2557 average rpm.

Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Athletic, strong sturdy build, with more size and strength coming.
Delivery: High leg tuck, slightly open land, low leg swing finish to home.
