Throughout the West Virginia high school baseball regular season we will be posting a Power 5 in each classification. Updates will be made for Class AAA on Mondays, AA on Tuesdays and A on Wednesdays. Check back frequently at PBR West Virginia to follow team and individual results from the previous week. Today we take a a look at our Week Six AA top 5.

Bridgeport remains number one but the wolves are nipping at their heels after a difficult week. The Indians went 2-4 with the in-state losses coming to AAA Morgantown and Jefferson. Individual statistics were not available.

Summarry
Winfield holds onto the number two spot but as with Bridgeport there are chinks in the armor. The Generals were 1-2 on the week losing to number five Nitro and Point Pleasant. Brett Morris (5-for-11, 3R, 6 RBI) and Sam Ingram (5-for-10, 4 R, 2 RBI) led the way at the plate. Nick Edwards and Peyton Gillispie were solid n the bump. The two combined to throw fourteen plus innings allowing only three earned runs.

Summary:
Wayne may be playing the best of any AA team at this point in the season. The Pioneers will be a difficult out in the upcoming playoffs. The Milum boys were the offensive catalysts in this week's 3-0 record. Wyatt was 4-for-8 and homered twice. Jeremiah collected four hits in nine plate appearance, scored three times and drove in two. Wyatt also combined with Cayden Ross to record fifteen strikeouts over eight innings of work while allowing only one earned run.

2 .Zack Whitacre, SS/RHP, #11 PBR West Virginia Class of 2019 Rankings
The Falcons hold at number four with a 2-1 week. Offensive contributions were spread out throughout the order. Zack Whitacre put up a 3-for-3, four RBI effort in a blow out win over Philip Barbour. Foster Conis and Whitacre pitched well in limited action.
NITRO
1. None
Nitro remains number five after going 3-1 on the week. The Wildcats beat number two Winfield in extras and lost to a good Scott team. Hunter Stamper had a nice week at the dish (7-for-15, 3 R, 2 RBI). Mike Stone proved to be effectively wild as he worked around twelve walks in giving up only one earned run in thirteen plus innings of mound work. Stone had the strikeout pitch working in recorded sixteen punch outs.
