The Patriots were able to push across a run early off Hurricane ace and Kentucky recruit Aaron Perry (currently No. 1 in WV Class of 2017 rankings).  The damage was done by West Virginia Weslyan recruit Josh Petit (currently No. 10 in WV Class of 2017 rankings) who homered to right.

Hurricane wasted no time getting that run and more back.   A Logan MClure single, a walk and a double by Evan Dearing gave the Redskins a 2-1 lead.  Dearing again did the damage in  the top of the fourth with a two run single.  Liam Bailey (currently No. 7 in WV Class of 2018 rankings) also homered in the inning to extend the lead to 5-1.

While Perry and Garrett Gress (currently No. 9 in the WV Class of 2017 rankings), who replaced Perry in the fifth, kept George Washington at bay the Hurricane offense continued it's assault.  They scored two in both the fifth and the sixth.  Nate Dunham doubled in each inning and Perry also doubled in the sixth to lead the way.
Chandler Kelley
The Redskins added a single run in the seventh to close out the scoring when Chandler Kelley  (pictured right and currently No. 4 in the WV class of 2018 rankings) singled and eventually scored on a sacrafice fly.   Perry, Dunham and Dearing all had multiple hit games for Hurricane.  Dearing went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.  Elias Miller recorded the only multiple hit game for George Washington with two singles.  Perry's final line showed 5 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 6 K, 1 BB.  Gress did not allow a runner in two innings and struck out one.
