Greg Williams
West Virginia Director of Operations

With a full season of high school baseball under their belts and the start of a sophomore season on the horizon the WV Class of 2020 rankings welcome the addition of 10 new players in this update. The current list now stands at 20 players with an update to the current PBR Class of 2020 overall rankings set to follow in the near future.

The top of the list includes four pitchers in the top six spots with St. Albans lefty Ayden Hodges moving up two spots to No. 1 following an impressive performance at a recent PBR event. On the heels of a Class AAA state title last spring, St. Albans has three players among among the top eight spots in this update. George Washington and Cabell Midland follow closely behind with two players each among the top 20 spots.

Top Newcomers to the list

Charlie KerzakTrey Ritchie

- 6-foot, 180-pound catcher Charlie Kerzak (Morgantown) checks in at No. 9 following a solid performance at the Pittsburgh Outlaws Scout Day in January. The right-handed hitter showcased middle-of-the order potential offensively and sound defensive skills behind the dish.

- 6-foot-3, 185-pound RHP Trey Ritchie (George Washington) follows closely behind entering the rankings at No. 11. A physical frame and a fastball that currently tops out at 80 mph makes Ritchie a definite follow in this class. The sophomore works out of mid-3/4 arm slot with excellent balance, rhythm and showed an ability to repeat his delivery at the recent West Virginia Gamers Scout Day.
