2021 MLB DraftAt a physical 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, Hill looks like a football player on the mound. He made two appearances in 2019 before an injury sideline him for the season and he was ready to return in 2020 before COVID-19 cancelled the season. In 2021, after an early April start against Vanderbilt, he was diagnosed with a torn UCL and underwent Tommy John surgery. When healthy, Hill attacks hitters with a filthy three-pitch mix that includes a fastball up to 98, a power slider at 84-86 and a changeup in the mid to upper 80s. He is one of the draft's biggest wild cards with his immense upside, injury history and lack of track record.

8/15/20

One of the more disappointing things about not having a 2020 college baseball season was not getting to watch Hill do his craft throughout the spring. We saw Hill once in the spring, and he was absolutely electric. Hill made two appearances in 2019 before an injury sidelined him for the season. But in 2020, he was ready to become one of the sport’s premier pitchers and prospects, and likely would’ve moved into the weekend rotation for SEC play. Hill is a physical football-player looking pitcher who stands at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds. He approaches the mound with a purpose and attacks hitters with an improved and filthy arsenal. In a short stint against Texas at the Shriners College Classic, Hill was unhittable, sitting 96-98 mph with his fastball, while also showing a filthy power slider at 84-86. Hill also threw at least one changeup at 87 mph. The talented righty has the ability to attack hitters with three quality offerings and will undoubtedly start for the Tigers in 2021.

2/29/20

Hill, who is listed at 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, was electric in his three innings of work. He struck out six of the ten batters he faced with one walk and no hits allowed. His fastball was 97-98 mph and then 93-95 mph in his last inning with a disappearing, late-breaking slider at 82-86 mph. The pitch tunneling of Hill was really good, causing some really bad swings on his slider as guys were trying to get started early on his fastball. (T King)

11/10/19: 6-foot-4, 217-pound athletic, strong frame. Clean, on-line delivery with high-level athleticism, smooth rhythm and medium effort. Smooth, medium arm action into a high- slot, clean with a fast arm. Fastball sat 94-96 with quality arm-side action working to both sides of the dish with average command-misses were down and rarely over the heart of the plate. Showed some feel for a solid changeup maintaining good arm speed with late arm side fade at 81-83 mph. (Sofio)

5.23.17 All State Game

Hill is a 6-foot-5 210-pound right-hander with a large frame and a physical build. He pitched 88-90 mph from a H ¾ arm slot with a short arm action. He threw a change up and slider. His slider was thrown 78-79 mph with 10/4 shape and early break. The change up was thrown 75-76 mph with near fastball arm speed and slight arm side run. He uses a measured delivery that is repeated consistently. He has a distinct balance point and finish square to the plate upright. Overall Hill is very physical with a quick arm, his upside is tremendous as he continues to learn how to pitch.

Pitcher
Hill is a 6-foot-4 195-pound right-hander with a large frame and physical build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick clean arm. He has a repeatable delivery with a distinct balance point. He finishes tall and online to home plate. He commands his fastball 88-90 mph touching as high as 92 mph. He compliments the fastball with a slider 76-79 mph with sharp 10/4 action. Overall Hill is a big physical athlete with a quick arm and a feel for a solid slider.

Position Player
Hill is a 6-foot-4 195-pound third baseman with a large frame and physical build. Offensivley he starts from an athletic stance, he sits down into his legs as his load, combined with a toe raise as his stride. He attacks the baseball with a level swing, maintaining balance through extension. He produces exit velocity up to 89 mph. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid foot work and solid actions. He has a fluid exchange and a quick clean arm. He throws the baseball 88 mph across the infield. He runs a 4.43 home to first time. Overall Hill is a physical player with some rawness to his offensive game, and is a solid defender.
