2022 OF Dominic Chacon (Horizon)- currently uncommitted, In a normal year, Chacon would most likely have been off the board by now. As a member of Team Arizona at the 2020 Future Games, he had a solid week in Georgia with a well-rounded performance. If it wasn't for the plethora of power left-handed bats in the OF at this year's event like Isaiah Jackson & colleges not being able to be there in person, Chacon would have turned some more heads. Chacon shows significant upside in a wiry athletic 6-foot-3 185-pounds build. Left-handed hitter with level LD approach that started to show off some power of his own in the fall classic a couple months back. Defensively, he shows athletic active footwork with quick jumps & reads off the bat. While he's not a burner, his length & awareness makes up for some of it. He cut off a couple hard hit balls in the gap while at the Future Games. Chacon should be one of the top uncommitted players to follow going into the spring season.
3/10/20
HS Action vs Flagstaff: 6-foot-3 190-pound build, stands out with above average strength for age, long limbs and some athletic actions. Runs better than you would think. Left handed hitter that hits from a wide athletic base with balance. Slightly upward swing path, looking to drive the baseball. Pop to RF with mid pull approach. Enough athleticism and arm strength to be a capable corner outfielder.
