Game Performance

Comments

8/11/22

+ SS/RHP Josh Tiedemann (Hamilton HS, AZ) got off quality swings all week for the Reds letting his quick hands deliver a heavy barrel on multiple occasions. A potential two-way player, the bat is ahead of the pitching, but the competitive edge raises both prospect profiles.

6/16/20

6-foot-1 170-pounds, large lean frame, broad shoulders, definition to body with above average strength & athleticism. Some advanced overall actions and tools. Shows the ability to slow down the game with an easy relaxed approach. Hits from a slightly spread out base loading into back leg with knee turn leg lift, minimal forward movement. Above average bat speed for a high schooler. Power potential in his swing that will come more often in the future. Mid/ pull approach with 93mph exit velocity. Low effort fielder with a good arm across the diamond at 87mph. Sure hands, still developing more feel for SS position. Also, worked out in the OF with easy footwork & accuracy to the bag, throwing 86mph. Should be a strong follow in 2023 class.

5/20/18

5-foot-11, 140-pound frame with athletic look. Two-way prospect shows best as position player, but also posted impressive 75 mph fastball velo for 2023 prospect. Uses short stride on mound, getting very little from stiffer lower half and showed ¾ arm slot. Also mixed in 61-63 mph curveball and 65-67 mph slider with is really a harder curveball with similar 12-6 shape and shorter break. Also threw 64-67 mph changeup with fastball arm speed below the zone. Athletic defensive mover could project to infield or outfield where he posted 75 and 80 mph velocities respectively. Offensively hits from athletic setup with loose hands and leg-lift trigger. Tended to make contact deep in zone at times, but drove ball with authority to the pull side when he caught it out front; 79 mph exit velocity.
