Abbotsford’s Taylor showcased at the Abbotsford scout day as one of the best defensive infielders at the event. He has smooth footwork and glove actions with smooth transfers and throws to the bag. He showed some athleticism throwing from multiple arm slots with ease and made his plays look routine. Offensively, he has a smooth approach with an easy load utilizing a leg kick that he can control through his forward move. He matches the plane well and showed some bat-to-ball skills that project with some additional size as a gap-to-gap line-drive hitter. Taylor would benefit significantly from some gains in the weight room and put on some weight to compliment an impressive base of fundamental and technical skill. A middle infield sleeper to keep an eye on moving forward.

One of the best defensive infielders at the event, Taylor showcased his tools at SS well, with great footwork approaching the ball and smooth hands. His arm plays at SS, as he can throw from multiple arm slots, and made all his plays look routine and easy. At the plate, Taylor arguably had one of the better rounds of the day. He has real bat to ball skills, barreling every ball in the air to the gap. Showed clean moves in his swing, allowing him to get on the plane early and displayed fast hands through contact. Taylor would benefit from added footspeed and overall strength to his game, but he showed that he is already a polished prospect that seems ready to jump into the next level and compete.
