Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Wiry frame, lower half flexibility, slightly undersized for ideal starter, more to come. Delivery: Comes set staggered, some Lincecum/Bauer feel to his pitching. Hides the ball well, activates backside, sits in hip well, creates above-average extension. Delivery shows highly likely velocity increase. Arm Action: RH. Short and quick in the back, hides the ball well, quality extension and follow-through in the front. FB: T81, 79-80 mph. Fastball shows some life to it along with arm side run. Pitched garnered swing and miss up in the zone. True four-seam fastball needed to reach full velocity max. CB: 66-70 mph. Delivery makes curveball inconsistent but also helps create true swing and miss action. Development, growth and practice will only make this pitch better. CH: 69-73 mph. Significant pronation plays up the pitch, +potential, arm side parachute swing and miss fade.

Delivery: Cole works from the stretch with a simple delivery and deception. With hands tucked on back hip, a simple leg kick and hand break make for quick work down the mound. You can see the tap of the glove for timing, with a ¾ arm slot, short arm, Cole gets down the mound quickly. Young arm that will develop as he gets stronger. Arm action is quick and aggressive.
FB: With a three pitch sequence, Cole relied on his fastball. Topping out at 83 mph, he was able to command both sides of the plate. As well as staying up the zone with the fast ball makes it have late life.
CB: Sharp downward break was the best way to describe this pitch. With his aggressive arm action Cole is able to get late break and keep hitters off balance. His spin rate reached a max of over 2400.
CH: Quality pitch that is able to tunnel with fastball, the velo differential of 10 mph keeps hitters off balance. Good pronation and movement on this pitch.

Pitching notes: Stretch with simple lift and drive delivery having high front leg with tuck and turn. Strong down the hill with aggressive extension over the front. Compact 3/4 and repeated it well for all three pitches. FB ride up through zone and ability to use on both sides of the plate. CB was very tight, short and sharp throwing it in any count and with strong overhand break. CHG armside bottom with ability to make it look like FB. Very strong outing and three pitches give it a chance to be a strong starter profile. FB 78-82 / CB 67-71 / CHG 70-72
