RSi
The reactive strength index measurement of an athlete's explosiveness by comparing their jump height to the ground contact time in between their jumps. On a scale of 0-5.
Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
Event: Future Games Tryout: NorCal Positional Profile: C Physical: 5-8, 163-pounds; Athletic, compact frame; 7.29 60-yard, 4.08 30-yard, 1.76 10-yard Offensively: RH. EV max – 85.5 mph, hand speed max – 21.6 mph, bat speed max – 66.9 mph; Upright, even stance. Simple, medium leg stride and quick, direct bat path. One handed finish with ability to elevate. Defensively: C Velo - 71 mph; Pop Time 2.03 - 2.14 sec; Quick, efficient transfer. Still got off good throws on feeds way across his body. Capable receiver and blocker.
7/31/22
Event: California State Games Positional Profile: C/SS Physical: 5-7, 140-pounds; Lean athletic body, average build. 7.50 runner in the 60, 4.12 30-yard split, 1.81 10-yard split. 22.9" vertical jump. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with wide feet, slight crouch; creates some early upward shoulder tilt to get to somewhat lofted attack angle. Loads hands slightly lower than initial setup getting out to a medium, slightly closed stride. Mostly fly balls in BP (62.5%) with 31.5 degree launch angle, 83.2 mph max EV, 280’ max estimated distance, 50% sweet spot %; Blast showed 64.6 mph max bat speed, 81% on-plane efficiency with 71.5% on-plane efficiency avg, 19.3 avg rotational acceleration, 21.6 max hand speed; showed ability to consistently utilize a swing he wants to employ, speaking to his bat to ball skills, though will need considerable increases in bat speed and strength to see positive results of a fly ball approach. Defensively: Transitioning to full time catcher but is a capable shortstop as well, POP range was 2.14-2.18 with 69 mph top velocity throw, 73 mph from SS in workout, intent defender with focus and concentration, gains ground to ground balls, quick release, feet work athletically, accurate thrower both behind plate and at SS.
6/22/21
Positional Profile: SS/C Body: 5-6, 130-pounds. Lean proportioned body with athletic young build, moves with athleticism. Hit: RHH. Wider feet, tall even stance, barrel over shoulder with relaxed elbows, lowers hands into deeper load. Fires hands quickly, can flick the barrel, medium in-line stride, one hand finish while working middle of the field while allowing ball to get deep. Power: 80 max exit velocity Arm: RH. INF - 67 mph. C - 67 mph. INF - Compact arm stroke with ability to drop down when moving to his left, fair carry though obviously not as physical as he will be in coming years, gets rid of ball quickly. C - raw arm plays up a bit more with the quick release, lower slot creating tailing action as throws approached bag. Defense: INF - Stays in legs, gains ground while maintaining balance, played backhand well, uses athleticism as defender. C - quick feet to pop throws, efficient with in-line set-up, displayed receiving technique training on one knee with nuanced glove movements below ball toward reception. Run: 7.29 runner in the 60.
